Rangers are warriors that live and learn in the forests, becoming familiar with the ways of nature through personal experience. It is often said that they know more of the natural world than the supernatural. Rangers are capable trackers and speedy travelers, and they handle bows skillfully. In fact, their archery goes unmatched in all of Alucinor, and they can even imbue their arrows with magic.

Little more is known about what the Rangers of Ultima X: Odyssey will be like, but we do get at least a hint about them from the details found in Ultima IV literature. As one of the 8 Classes of the Fellowship, here is what it has to say:

RANGER: Off the western shore of the mainland lies the fair island of the Rangers. Venturing far from their retreat at Skara Brae, they strive to improve the conditions of people throughout the realm. Rangers are well-versed in woods lore and fight fiercely with most weapons, but shun all but leather armour. They are also proficient magic users and faultless trackers in any wilderness.
